GPS Information March 11, 2010 The USPS has announced that they are implementing GPS devices in 4200 postal vehicles nationwide with GPS devices being placed in 100 vehicles in the Santa Ana and the Los Angeles districts and 50 vehicles in the San Diego district. Prior to implementation of GPS in any vehicle, management is required to inform the carrier(s) involved that a GPS device is being placed into the vehicle. If you become aware that GPS devices are being installed in postal vehicles in your office, without notifying the carriers in your office, immediately contact your local shop steward or the branch office so the information can be forwarded to the NALC’s Director of City Delivery. This page will be updated as more information becomes available.
