Excessing Update

The Union did meet with the Los Angeles District regarding Letter Carriers being excessed to the Mail Handlers craft. Management is going to go forward with their plan to excess Letter Carriers.  The Union believes that management is violating the National Agreement for excessing of Letter Carriers.  The Union will immediately be filing grievances on the improper excessing. If you are a Letter Carrier being excessed to the Mail Handler craft please contact you Shop Steward or the Branch Office immediately.

The offices of Branch 1100 have been notified that some letter carriers in the Los Angeles District are going to be excessed to other offices or other crafts effective February 2010.  The Union is aware of the issue and is going to be meeting with the LA district as expeditiously as possible to address the issue.
